Laura has two tempos. On a ski run or in the saddle, she is pure energy, first down the slope and first back up again. Across a candlelit table, she becomes still, warm and entirely present, as though the adventure has been folded neatly away and saved for tomorrow. Both versions are entirely genuine, and the shift between them is seamless, like a well-cut coat that works on the mountain and in the city.
That contrast is the charm. She is 25, athletic at 169 cm, with long, sun-kissed light brown hair and green eyes that brighten whenever talk turns to travel. Her style is breezy garden-party elegance, sharpened for evening: a pale linen dress under a tailored navy blazer, flat sandals for walking, a light cashmere knit over the shoulders once the air cools. Tailored, but never stiff. The effect is one of ease under control.
Horse riding is a lifelong love, skiing a winter ritual, and Italy the country she keeps returning to in conversation. She will describe a hill town in Umbria, a lake in the north, a trattoria with no menu, and make you want to book the flight before dessert arrives. Bianka shares her feeling for Italian cooking, while Stacy, her neighbour, trades skis for a snowboard. Her descriptions come in colour, the ochre of a farmhouse wall, the green of a river at dawn.
Laura lives in De Pijp, close to the Sarphatipark and the terraces along the Ceintuurbaan. Her English is quick and full of warmth. Adventurous enough for a spontaneous change of plan, gentle enough to make any plan feel easy, she is a companion for travellers who like their evenings to have a little movement in them. She likes a walk before dinner and a slow finish after it, and she will happily choose the route.
